Get Naked, hand-painted animation, 3:22, 2008

Get Naked explores the relationship between performance and transcendence, as well as the erotic versus the ecstatic. Like a lot of my work, the piece is heavily influenced by my upbringing in a Transcendental Mediation community in Fairfield Iowa. In the piece, short directed performances trigger surreal narrative passages, transporting the figure into unlikely landscapes. The piece was made from over 500 individual paintings, as well as 8mm film footage shot by my dad on TM courses in the late sixties. My dad, Paul Fauerso, composed the music and sound design for Get Naked.
